Laura teaches Pilates, Yoga, and Barre classes in group settings as well as private lessons. She focuses on function and fun – making the exercises meaningful for your daily life while getting you in touch with the part of you that loves motion.

Pilates was created by Joseph Pilates in the early and mid-twentieth century, to counteract the effects of his own childhood ailments and the physical stresses of modern living (e.g., too much sitting!). It includes hundreds of original exercises, informed by dance, gymnastics, and yoga, that are performed on a mat or on specialized apparatus. It trains the body to move from a strong core. Results include an elongated spine (improved posture), a better sense of balance, greater ease of movement, and increased body awareness. Its strong emphasis on efficient breathing (what Joe called the “internal shower”) infuses body and mind with a sense of increased vitality – the goal is to leave a Pilates session with more energy than when you came!

Yoga is a 5000+ year old practice that combines physical postures, breathing exercises, meditation, and mental focus into a holistic lifestyle practice aimed at counteracting the stresses of daily living.

Barre combines elements of ballet, Pilates, yoga, and weight training in a 60-minute class designed to sculpt shapely shoulders, arms, abs, thighs, and seats. Barre's unique combination of isometric and full-range motions will work your muscles to their fullest potential, while its stretching exercises elongate the same muscle groups. The instructor's alignment cues will ensure maximum results: sculpted shoulders, chiseled waistline, lifted seat, long, lean thighs.
